We have a bunch of Halloween art and craft ideas on our blog, many of them really easy to make but these cute ghosts are without a doubt one of the easiest for kids to make. Another cool project that doesn’t require much skill, making it perfect for preschool is this tape resist spider web art or these fun apple printed Jack o lanterns.
For kids that want something a little more challenging (but still easy) this Halloween cat painting tutorial will do the trick.
How to Make Easy Ghost Art Project for Kids
What you need:
- black construction paper (or other color)
- white paint
- round sponge brush
- scissors or round paper punch
- glue
Step by Step Tutorial
Pour white paint on a paper plate (or other tray). This will make dipping the sponges easier.
Add some water if needed.
Have the kids dip the round sponge brush into white paint. Press it in for the paint to really soak in.
And now start painting! Press the sponge on the black (or other color) paper to make circles.
Start “building” up the U (inverted) shape, shaping up the body of the ghost.
If the paint doesn’t cover the whole circle, that’s OK as ghosts are supposed to be slightly translucent anyway.
Work your way with the brush until you are happy with the bubbly shape of your ghost.
Allow the paint to dry. While you wait, cut a few circles out of black paper.
Alternatively you can also use the sponge brush and dip it into black paint to make the eyes and mouth of your ghost.
Apply glue and stick the paper circles onto the ghost.
Boo! If you want, you can also add a pair of hands to your ghost.
All done, this easy ghost art project for kids is ready to be displayed.
If you want to add more personality to your ghost, you can also add paper bows or other decorations.
