How to Make the Dragonfly Made With Pompoms
What you need:
- craft stick
- green acrylic paint
- paintbrush
- glue stick
- blue paper
- scissors
- pencil
- pompoms in different sizes (green and blue)
- two pink decor beads (halves)
- googly eyes
- red yarn
Step by Step Tutorial
You will gather your supplies and paint a craft stick green to start this craft.
If you are working with a larger group of kids, make them a stencil on cardstock and cut it out.
Kids who need a little help with making the wings can draw around the wings on pale blue paper.
Have them cut out the wings of their butterfly.
During this step, you will glue two moving eyes on the pompom.
Cut a piece of red yarn.
Glue the piece of red yarn on as a smile.
Glue two pink half-pearls on the pompom to create cheeks.
A big green craft stick will be the body.
Glue the wings on the stick.
Adding the second pair of wings to the dragonfly is the next step.
Fold the wings back a little, so they stay nice and crisp.
Go ahead and glue the head onto the stick.
Add pompoms along the craft stick.
Arrange them from more significant to smaller ones.
The final look of this dragonfly made with pompoms is simple yet fun!
