We love making handprint crafts that go beyond your regular – paint the hand and press it down. These are not suited for toddlers (unless you are making a keepsake for yourself or family members) as they won’t be able to go through the process.
Most kids in preschool will need help with cutting but lots of kids in kindergarten will be able to make this handprint hedgehog craft on their own. It all depends on how great the kids are with scissors.
We do think this craft project is amazingly fun to do in the classroom to use as a personalised bulletin board or classroom door decoration, with each of the students making their very own hand print hedgehog.

Or Follow this step by step tutorial
Place your hand on a sheet of brown construction paper.
With a pencil or crayon, trace around your hand. Slowly go all around your palm and your fingers. Remove your hand.
Cut out your hand silhouette. Nice and slow.
With a paint brush, paint the part of the “palm” beige. Let the paint dry before you move onto the next step.
With a black marker, draw the nose and mouth. If you have wiggle eye stickers or googly eyes, stick on an eye, if not draw the eyes with a black marker.
Draw small lines on fingers (all in about the same direction) with a black marker to make the spikes.
Woo hoo, you made an adorable handprint hedgehog craft.
