Why only make reindeer, Santa, and elves when your kids can make this easy and cute Christmas penguin craft? You won’t believe how easy it is to make, and as basic shapes are used to make the body, you can also use this craft to enhance your lessons about shapes.
You can make this one as a regular penguin craft or transform it into a Christmas craft by adding a fluffy red hat.

How to Make the Cute Christmas Penguin Craft
What you need:
- pencil
- scissors
- glue
- color paper (red and orange)
- construction paper (light blue)
- black paper
- white paper
- cotton balls / white pom poms
Step by Step Tutorial
Cut out two circles; the black should be slightly larger than the white one.
Apply glue on the white circle and glue it on the black circle. Wait for the glue to set.
Fold the sides of the circle towards the center (at a slight angle). This will shape out the penguin’s wings.
Fold the top part downwards. This will create the penguin’s head.
Cut out two white circles for the eyes and glue them to the head (or use googly eye stickers).
With a black marker, draw dots inside the eyes.
Cut out a small triangle out of orange or yellow paper.
Have kids fold an orange rectangle in half, draw one foot on it, and then cut out the shape.
Glue the feet to the penguin’s body.
Make small cuts along the inner side of the wings to achieve a feathered look.
Apply glue to the light blue construction paper (or any of your choice) and stick the penguin on it.
Cut out a hat shape.
Glue the hat onto the penguin’s head.
Next, glue a white pom pom to the tip of the hat.
Glue cotton balls at the edge of the hat.
The Chrismas penguin craft is done!
You can also have the kids add snowflakes in the background – either with Q-tips dipped in paint or markers.
