How to Make the DIY Easy Christmas Paper Wreath Ornament
What you need:
- scissors
- glue
- color paper (yellow and red)
- decorative bead or a button
- red yarn
Step by Step Tutorial
The Wreath
Start by folding a sheet of (yellow) paper in half.
Once folded in half, make another fold at the top (along the length).
Make sure the folds are nice and crisp.
Hold the paper folded and start making incisions with your scissors, and cutting strips until you reach the fold you made.
Unfold the paper and apply glue to the upper folded part (one side only).
Now gently bring the ends together, making the paper tube aligning the folds and sticking them together.
Apply light pressure so it stays in place.
Cut off a strip or two (now paper loop) from one end of your tube.
Apply glue to the part with no stips.
Stretch the roll and glue it together to create a flower-shaped circle.
The Bow
Cut out a red square.
Fold it diagonally in half.
Fold it once more.
Now, make incisions almost to the center of the square.
Ensure not to go all the way – we don’t want to cut off the triangles.
Apply glue to the center of the square and bend the ends of one triangle towards the center.
Repeat the process on the opposite triangle.
Now, carefully cut off one triangle.
We want to cut off a smaller triangle from the bigger one.
Make incisions following the outer lines of the triangle towards the center.
Once we cut off the triangle shape, we must cut off a tiny triangle from both ribbon strips.
Apply glue and place a neat bead in the center of the bow.
You can also use a button or anything similar.
Cut a piece of red yarn, make a loop, and glue it behind the bow.
Glue the bow onto the yellow wreath.
Your DIY easy Christmas paper wreath ornament is finished!
Place it wherever you prefer – use it as a Christmas tree ornament, as a present decoration, or dangle it from front doors or windows.
