How to Draw a Dinosaur Step by Step
In this tutorial, we’ll be teaching your kids how to draw a dinosaur that looks like a T-rex or a velociraptor – two of the most popular dinosaurs out there. Step by Step Car Drawing Instructions
Step 1
We’ll start this drawing of a T rex by drawing the head. Start at the right end and make an “egg-like” shape, not making a full egg shape.
It doesn’t have to be exactly the same or perfect; it can be more boxy or more round or oval, and it will turn out great, just the same.
Step 2
Next, let’s make a face – we’ll be making a cute dinosaur drawing, not a scary one. Draw an eye and an arch above the eye (like an eyebrow). Draw a line for the mouth and make nostrils above the mouth line.
Step 3
Finish up the face by drawing sharp teeth below the mouth.
Next comes the neck. Continue the line on the right and make a curved line, like a round bracket, on the left.
Step 4
You can’t draw a dinosaur, especially a T-rex, without cute hands. Make a hand. Once you are done, draw a line for the back.
Step 5
The hind leg is next.
Step 6
Bring it all together by drawing a curved line for the belly and drawing a tail.
Step 7
You already know how to draw a pair of legs, so also draw the pair in the background.
Step 8
Now draw lines that follow the belly line, from the head all the way to the tip of the tail.
Step 9
Decorate! Draw lines on the belly and strips or spots on the back to give your cute dino drawing some texture.
Step 10
Congratulations! You learned how to draw a dinosaur! The only thing left is to color in your drawing (and draw more of them).
