How to Draw a Princess Step by Step
Once you are done drawing a princess why not also try how to draw a mermaid (or any other character from our big collection of how to draw tutorials).
What you need:
- our printable drawing guide (optional)
- pencil or black marker
- paper
Step by Step Princess Drawing Instructions
Step 1
Start off by drawing a face. It’s easy, just draw a wide U shape.
Step 2
Next come the facial features and neck. When it comes to the face, the eyes can be a bit tricky, you can keep it simple by drawing dots instead of full eyes.
Step 3
In the next step we’ll close off the face with a hair line.
Also, draw a U shape under the neck. We’re already working on the gown for this princess.
Step 4
Next comes the belt for the dress. It might feel weird to draw something in the middle, but it will make all next steps a lot easier.
Step 5
Shoulder pads are next (think letter C) and the first part of the gown.
Step 6
Draw a line from the shoulder pads to the belt on both sides.
Step 7
Simple arms. Hands can be really hard to draw, they are especially challenging for young kids so keep this as simple as possible.
Step 8
Draw a crown. And add details to the dress.
Step 9
Last but not least, draw a hair. We decided our princess will have curly hair but your kids can draw whichever hairstyle they want.
Step 10
Congratulations, you have learned how to draw a princess, so the last thing left to do is to color it in.
