But that’s all for another time, let’s get back to our Halloween spider craft template and how to use it.
How to Make the Halloween Spider Craft
What you need:
- printable template
- pencil
- scissors
- glue
- coloring supplies (markers, crayons, pencils – whichever medium your child prefers)
- color paper (purple works great but any color is fun really).
Step by Step Tutorial
Print out the Halloween spider craft template.
The Spider Template
Let’s start by coloring in the picture. Brush markers are great, but any other medium works out well to (crayons being a popular pick).
Your kids can color the spiders body in the same color as the paper they will use for the body is or they can go with another color.
See how friendly our spider is looking?
Next, it’s time to color in the legs. This is a good opportunity to talk about how spiders, unlike most bugs have 8 legs.
This step is optional – you can have the kids cut out along the frame, or leave the sheet of paper intact.
The Spider’s Body
Cut out the circle from the instructions page (or print the page with multiple circles directly on colored paper).
Have the kids trace around the circle on colored paper.
They’ll need at least four circles, but they can make more.
Next, have them cut out the circles.
Next, the circles need to be folded in half.
Fold them all.
Have kids apply glue to one half of the circle and glue the part to the spider template.
To start building the body, kids have to apply the glue to the folded half they just glued.
Then, glue the second folded circle onto it.
Rinse and repeat until all circles are glued to the template.
The Halloween spider craft is complete!
We like how it turned out!
You can hang the masterpiece on a wall or if you are making this in the classroom, make a fun Halloween bulletin board display.
Have fun making Halloween crafts!
