We love making a good Halloween craft for kids to play with (like our cool build a witch puppet craft) but we also love to share ideas for projects that kids can make and then gift and this little monster craft is just the thing! It allows for so much creativity – just take our card as an example and go wild with your monster.
How to Make a DIY Monster Halloween Card
What you need:
- paper in various colors
- googly eyes (optional)
- scissors
- glue
Step by Step Tutorial
Fold a sheet of cardstock (black color is perfect) in half to make a card base.
Run your fingers across the fold to make it nice and crisp.
Cut two large circles (ours is bright green). Glue the first on on the card.
Fold the second one in half and glue it on the card.
Press it down for the glue to set.
Cut a smaller circle out of red paper, fold it in half and glue it inside the folded circle.
Cut teeth out of white paper. They can be triangle shaped, or square shaped, however you like them. Stick them inside the monster’s mouth (let them go over the edge a little.
Close the monster’s mouth. If you want, draw nostrils or other details and also add a pair (or more) of googly eyes.
Cut a pair of wings or other tentacles out of paper (we did blue wings) and stick them onto your monster.
You can also go with horns, octopus-like tentacles, anything really.
Add a pair of legs (or a dozen).
Add a note inside your card. You can use acrylic pens or chalk pens if you want to write on black paper.
If not cut out a shape out of brighter paper, glue it inside your monster card, and write a note.
All done, your DIY Monsters Halloween Card is ready to make someone’s day!
