Although Mother’s day is behind us (and even more so Valentine’s day) there are still enough reasons to make this lovely rocking heart craft!
It will make an awesome handmade gift for mothers, family members and friends!
This is a fun project for all ages – you can make simple designs with larger pebbles with preschoolers (like heart shape here, maybe a house, circle, square..) or go for more intricate designs with small rocks that can even have more than one color with older kids – the end result will always be amazing (even if things don’t go as planned).
Let’s get busy making this rocking heart craft
What you need
- canvas (we re purposed an old one) or cardstock
- stones, pebbles
- colors for canvas and rocks – acrylics work out great – for stones we used acrylic spray as – as this way we colored all stones in a minute
- brush to color the canvas (sponge brushes always win)
- school glue
Start by coloring the canvas and rocks (you can also leave it in natural colors, depending on rock color it can really turn out great).
When everything dries apply a generous amount of white glue onto the canvas and start placing the pebbles on. School glue will take quite a while to dry this way but it is strong enough to keep the pebbles in their place once it’s dry!
