Different Chrismas crafts are a great opportunity to get creative during the holidays and we love making them (check out our 3D Christmas Tree Card or Santa Windsock Toilet Paper Roll Craft).
The craft itself doesn’t require much work and is fun to do. If you are new to making your own ornaments, this one great to start with and you can pick up wooden slices with holes or without holes in them at most craft stores this time of the year.
If you are more at home with woodwork, you can make your own wooden slices.
To make them even more exclusive, the antlers of each reindeer can be shaped however you like.
How to Make Reindeer Wooden Slice Ornaments
What you need:
- wooden disk
- ribbon
- glitter foam paper sheets
- pom pom
- scissors
- marker
- pencil
- hot glue
- paint
- paintbrush
Let’s craft.
Step by Step Tutorial
Paint the wooden disk with white.
Draw the reindeer’s antlers on the back of the glitter foam paper…
…and cut them out.
Draw the reindeer’s head onto the wood slice and paint it to brown.
Next, draw the eyes with a black marker.
Cut a piece of the ribbon and glue it to the back of the wood slice with hot glue.
Glue the red pom-pom for the nose.
Glue the reindeer’s antlers to the back.
And you’re all done.
Make as many reindeer as you like. There is no need for all of them to have a red pom pom for their nose, make one with red and others with brown and practice all the names of Santa’s reindeer.
Have a jolly Christmas …
… and have fun crafting.
