We love crafts, but we love them even more when they have a purpose beyond the “crafting process”. We love when crafts become open ended, have educational touch to them or (and we love these the most) when they can be played with once they are done.
That’s why we thought long and hard and came up with these cool bug hand puppets (yes there will be quite a few) that are not only fun to make but way more fun to play with once they are done.
We are kicking off our series with a ladybug paper hand puppet, as this cutie pie is one of our favorite bugs after all.

Or Follow These Step by Step Instructions
Print our template.
If you decide to make the color in version it’s best to use heavier print paper especially if you will color it with markers as they wet and wrinkle the paper.
Color in all the body parts of the ladybug.
If you are using the template as a stencil, cut the parts out and trace them on construction paper, body and legs on black one and wings on red one. The color of the strap is not important.Cut out the colored body parts or parts that you have outlined on the construction paper.
Fold the legs (give them a zig zag look.) You can fold one by one or just do them all at the same time.Glue all pieces together. Legs on the body.
Wings on the body (add glue on one side only).
Last thing that needs to be done is to glue the little strap on the bugs belly. This strap will allow you to slide your hand in and use this paper bug as a hand puppet.
