How to Make a Rocking Paper Plate Butterfly Craft
What you need:
- paper plate
- googly eyes
- scissors
- glue
- paper
- paint
- pipe cleaners
Step By Step Tutorial
This may be one of the easiest crafts you’ve ever done. It starts by folding a paper plate in half.
Go ahead and use the scissors to cut the paper plate along the crease.
Once you have it cut, fold it into a cone. Don’t glue it just yet!
Next, you are going to take a pipe cleaner, fold it into a “V” shape. This is how you will create the butterfly’s antennaes.
Take a piece of tape or glue and put them on the back of the paper plate.
Once it is where you want it to be, you can glue or staple it together, to make sure it stays.
Push down hard to ensure it stays like it’s supposed to!
You might need quite a bit of glue!
It should look something like this before the final touches go on.
Use the other side of the paper plate from earlier to cut out two heart shapes.
These heart shapes are going to work as wings for the butterfly. This is where you will paint your very own design onto the wings.
Go ahead and paint the body of the butterfly.
You may need to give it a second or two to dry.
Once the body is dry, you can draw on a cute mouth and glue on the eyes.
Now you can glue on the wings as seen below!
