So you already had fun playing with our ladybug hand puppet and butterfly hand puppet and just can’t get enough? Well next in our series is the bee! (two more to come!).
Bees are amazing! They are extremely hard working and I’m pretty sure you and your kids already realise that without these yellow and black critters we would be in trouble.
Have a bee lesson in your classroom (especially kindergarten)? We just know this craftivity will make a fun addition to the lesson. Each child can create their own puppet and, well just imagine them all running around and buzzing.
Like it? Let’s make them!
You can grab the template for this craft at the end of this tutorial.

Print out templates. We printed the template on heavier print paper as we colored it with markers (they would bleed through and wrinkle regular print paper). If your kids will be using crayons to color in the template regular print paper will work out nicely.
If you decide to go with the “color in” approach it’s best to color the parts of the template beforehand.
Cut out all of the template parts.
If working with construction paper, trace the bee body parts on the construction paper. Bee body on yellow construction paper (draw the stripes with a black marker), legs on black paper, wings on light blue paper and the sting on the black paper too.
Glue the wings on the body of the bee. Fold them up a bit (and crease) to make them more movable.
Fold the legs – accordion fold.
Glue them on the body (bottom side). Also glue the sting.
Flip the bee over. Glue the strap on.
All done and ready to be played with.
