Need a silly spider craft to go along with a spider themed book? This one is perfect!
These things are adorable and that’s coming from someone that’s dead afraid of spiders! Hang them on the front of a photo frame for seasonal decor, add them to your fireplace mantle, string them across to make a banner.

Silly Spider Craft
Materials:
Embroidery Hoops of various sizes (show ins 4.25″ diameter and 3.25″ diameter)
Embroidery Floss in White (do not separate the strands)
Black Pipe Cleaners
Black Pom Poms
Googly Eyes
Kid Safe Glue Gun
Let’s make it;
Separate your embroidery hoop and wrap the white embroidery floss around the hoop. Affix with hot glue if necessary. Put the hoop back together and tighten the screw. (I did not use hot glue).
Wrap white floss around the hoop in any directions, changing frequently to make a web pattern. When happy with the result, put a tiny bit of hot glue on the back of the hoop and trim the thread.
To make the large spiders:
Use 2 pipe cleaners and cut them in half. Fold the ends in to make a leg shape. Affix the four pieces to the bottom of the pom pom with hot glue. Add google eyes as desired.
To make the smaller spider:
Fold 1 pipe cleaner in half and half again and cut into four equal pieces. Fold the ends to make legs and glue to the bottom of the pom pom. Add eyes with hot glue.
To assemble:
You can glue the spiders onto the web, or just set them on there, which is what I did.
