How to Make the Easy Paper Heart Wreath
What you need:
- pencil
- scissors
- glue
- color paper (we suggest different shades of pink and purple)
- cardstock
Step by Step Tutorial
Start by having your kids take a sheet of brown cardstock and fold it in half.
Next, have them draw half of a heart shape along the folded edge, and then, inside that heart, draw another smaller heart.
Now, have them cut along the inner line.
And the outer line.
Unfold the paper to reveal a broad heart outline.
Gather different shades of pink and purple paper (or other colors). Have kids stack a few sheets together and then fold them in half.
Have them draw half of a heart shape along the folded edge of the stacked papers and cut along the line.
When they unfold the papers, voila a little heart shape ready to be used!
Have them cut out plenty, they can all be the same size and color or they can be made with different colors and sizes.
Have kids apply glue to the brown heart shape.
Glue them hearts on the base.
All around the heart shape.
You can have the kids fill in the blanks with tiny hearts (paper punch is perfect for making these).
Kids can get creative with patterns and arrangements and layering the hearts for a textured effect.
Once the glue dries, your easy paper heart wreath is ready to be displayed.
