How to Make a Dog Paper Roll Craft
What you need:
- toilet paper roll
- printable template (optional)
- scissors
- black marker
- pencil
- glue stick
- black, red, body-colored paper
- two kinds of brown paper
- chocolate, or any small gift
Step by Step Tutorial
The Body
Start by taking a toilet paper roll and cutting a beige piece of paper the same size.
Glue the beige piece of paper onto the toilet paper roll.
Glue it well to ensure it stays.
You are going to fold up part of the toilet paper roll.
You can see how it’s folded down in the picture. Feel free to glue it if you need to.
Go ahead and do both sides.
The Head and the Tail
Cut out the template.
Draw the template onto the pieces of paper of your choice.
Again, use the colors that you’d like for your dog.
The little nose can be cut out on a black piece of paper.
Now you are going to start piecing the dog together.
You can start by assembling the snout and one “dotty” eye.
Glue it onto the head.
Apply the snout and dog’s ears.
As you can see, the face is a culmination of several different colors.
Feel free to draw the eyes!
Next, you will glue the face onto the body of the dog.
Feel free to draw dots on the dog to make it look like whiskers.
The Collar
Cut out a small red heart that you will use for the collar on the dog.
Cut a long strip of brown paper out.
Place the strip of brown paper onto the dog where a collar would go.
Snip the excess piece of brown paper off.
Add a small brown tail to the dog.
Glue the heart piece onto the dog as a bit of part of his collar.
Take a piece of chocolate and place it inside the bottom of the dog.
Fold the toilet paper roll back up to hide the chocolate.
The final look of the dog is below.
Put in as many candies as you want.
You can make more of them with different color papers.
Kids will love the surprise.
