We sure do love making turkey crafts, it’s a fun animal after all!
This simple placeholder will be really fun to make, especially for the kids as they will be able to admire (and brag about) their crafty creation at the festive dinner table.
How to Make a Turkey Handprint Craft
What you need:
- brown construction paper
- two clothespins
- orange, brown, and yellow paint
- googly eyes or googly eye sticker
- yellow paper
- glue
- scissors
Step by Step Tutorial
Trace your handprint on brown construction paper and cut out the outline.
Paint the four fingers (except for the thumb) in fall colors to make the turkey’s tail.
Let the paint dry.
Cut a small triangle out of yellow paper and stick it on the thumb to make the beak. Also add a googly eye.
If you want to transform this turkey handprint art into a fun Thanksgiving placeholder also paint two clothespins orange. They will be used to make the legs of the turkey and to hold the name of your guests.
Clip the painted clothespins on the turkey.
Autumn Handprint Turkey Place Holder
I was also sharing this handprint turkey place holder over at Blitsy, where you’ll find all the steps and materials needed to create your own turkey place holder.
I love working with wiggle eyes stickers as they are way more fun to work with than your regular googly eyes – just look at them. And kids are crazy about working with stickers, your turkey might end up having more than just two eyes.
