Turtles are pretty cool and this paper loops turtle craft really makes their cool shell stand out. Super easy to make and it’s a fun and colorful summer craft.

We love how colorful these can be – you can print them on white paper and have the kids color in the turtles however they like or you can print the template on colored paper just like we did. There is no limits when it comes to picking the colors.
How to make Paper Loops Turtle Craft
What you need:
- our printable craft template
- colored paper or white paper and coloring supplies
- glue
- scissors
Tip: it’s best to use construction paper for the body of the turtle and regular print paper for the paper loops (but using either works well).
Step by Step Instructions
Print out the template.
Cut out both the turtle and the rectangle next to the turtle.
When it comes to colors, you can pick them completely at random, work with different shapes of the same colors, go with complementary colors….
Use the rectangle as a stencil to cut about 10 strips of paper (in any color you want) that are about the same size as the rectangle (they don’t have to be exactly the same).
Cut, cut, cut.
Apply glue on one end of the paper strip.
And glue the ends together to form a loop / paper roll.
Apply glue on one side of the paper roll…
…and stick it on the turtle. It’s best to start in the middle as shown in the image bellow.
Continue with the other paper rools.
To make the turtle shell look even better, gently press down the paper loops.
All done! The fun turtle is complete.
