We are back with another wonderful flower craft idea for kids, this time we are making a paper tulip flower craft (template included).
This cute craft doubles up as a wonderful Mother’s day card (or a card to give to your child’s favorite teacher). Super simple and sweet.

Since you loved our heart flower craft with the template so much, I decided this should become a series of some sorts and I already have a few fun folded cards that pop open designed (well sketched).
I though I’d start with something simple and fitting for the seasons so another flower was in order, this time a tulip.
Folding these is pretty easy and if you write a lovely note inside them, they make the most wonderful cards for friends, family or teacher.

Or Follow These Step by Step Folding Instructions
Print our template on regular print paper.
If you are printing on the white paper, color the flower before cutting.
Cut out the tulip flower template.
Fold it in half as shown on the picture bellow. Unfold.
Fold in half (at a right angle to the previous fold) as shown on the image bellow. Unfold.
Fold as shown on the image below.
Write a message or draw an image inside the flower.
Now comes the tricky part (I do recommend you watch the video for this part).
Look at the last fold you made – the one that folds the tulip flower in half. You need to push this fold “inside the tulip”. First one side.
And then the other.
If you have done it right, you should see a tulip shaped flower.
Color the craft stick green. Let the paint dry.
Apply a small amount of glue on one end.
Press the folded paper tulip on the glue stick.
Allow the glue some time to set (press it down with your fingers).
There is an additional printable sheet full of butterflies you can use, especially if you printed on colored paper.
Color one of the butterflies and cut it out.
Glue the butterfly onto a paper clip or a mini clothespin.
Attach the butterfly to the flower – this will keep the flower shut.
Now for the final touch, cut a leaf out of green paper and glue it on the paper tulip flower craft.
