I’ve got another set of fortune tellers to share with you! I made quite a few Christmas cootie catchers and this time all of them are a free printable!
I’ve made quite a few cootie catchers already and it all started with a fun shark cootie catcher. These fortune tellers, as some call them, are a great origami for kids and beginners.

Christmas Cootie Catchers
If you read Christmas stories with your children these fun paper puppets will make story time even more fun (also do check these printable Christmas puppets or this fun reindeer puppet template)! Not to mention these can be used for dramatic play.
There are 4 fun designs available, the reindeer and Santa you can grab from our website and the other set (elf and gift box) have found their home over at Red Ted Art.
These really are fun for kids to make and to play with, and are an excellent origami project for kids to make.
How to Make a Cootie Catcher
Cut out the template. Fold in half twice, make sure the folds are crisp, unfold.
The paper needs to be facing you with the blank side. Fold all 4 corners towards the center. Make sure the folds are crisp.
Flip around, and again fold all corners towards the center. Watch for the crisp folds ;).
Now fold in half to get the rectangle. Crisp folds. You can fold in half again, just to make a crisper fold and unfold back into the rectangle.
There are openings on one side, push your fingers into the openings and gently push and wiggle around until you get a cootie catcher.

Get the Santa and Rudolph Cootie Catchers
So I’m sharing these lovely duo. They make quite a Christmas team don’t they, I can’t imagine Santa without Rudolph, this might be because Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is one of my favourite childhood movies – I would watch it 20x over Christmas (had it on VHS – writing this down makes me feel old haha).

What would Santa do without Elves to help him pack all the gifts? Or for that matter without presents themselves? So here are two more cootie catchers for your kids to have fun with.
